Virus/ Old and New

Sorry to anyone checking in on us and finding nothing new. Our computer was sick and it took Scott and few weeks to cure it.

Anyway, we live in a house that is around 90 years old. When we bought it we knew we had many, many projects ahead. We finished one just before Molly's birthday party. The downstairs bathroom had old fixtures and an ugly parkay(?) floor. Before we moved in, we painted the room, ripped up the old floor and refinished the wood floors underneath. We had a hard time finding fixtures we liked so we waited, not wanting to rush into anything. Well we found what we liked and had it finished before the party.

I think it turned out well, but it came with a little drama. Nothing in an old house fits like it would in a new. New fixtures are meant for new houses and not not old...the plumber had a time making things fit and I am not looking forward to seeing his bill.

The bathroom before painting....

Old potty that used something like 10 gallons per flush.
New one that uses 1.6 gallons!!!
Old, gross sink.
New, pretty clean sink.
I am happy with the results. Later, we are thinking about ripping out the 70's shower stall and finding an old claw foot tub. The floors have to be refinished again because of some water damage from a leaking pipe to the old sink. We'll do it when we remodel the kitchen.
